Right off the bat a circular table was set-up for the guests to leave well-wishes for the bride to be.  A white cloth set the stage for a fantastic vintage cage holding branches in varying sizes and a red ribbon for a touch of color.  A sign announced what the table was for framed in a black color for a dramatic effect.  Cards offers to write advice on had neat bird clip art and a parchment quality.

A bubbly bar offered the guests delicious beverage choices in a stylish fashion.  A backdrop of pinwheels in deep, purple, black, white, and silver tones were arranged in a neat display to draw the eye.  This table was covered in black, with a fun silver banner advertising the Bubble Bar.  Purple flowers in large vases added a royal splash of color to this table.

To hit the sweet spot, a table was arranged with delicious candies and treats for the visitors to enjoy.  Purple boxes lined each side so the guests could grab what they wanted easily.  The sign advertising this table was framed in a simple black style, but the sign itself had a wonderful curly artwork border that made it stand out. Treats were placed in all sorts of different dishes, giving a unique look.  Lollipops made a fun centerpiece standing tall in a large black bucket filled with greenery and surrounded by yummy looking cupcakes.  For a fun decorative touch, tulle poms were hung on a strand of lights across the back of the table adding to the theme perfectly.

Kate Spade Themed Bridal Shower

Celebrating love with elegance, friends and family was just the way to go with this fantastic Kate Spade Themed Shower.  Tera Hare designed a fabulous event for bride-to-be Alexa using a blend of gold, creme, pink, black and white tones.

Using a favorite restaurant as a venue, the bride-to-be was sure to be comfortable at this party, along with her favorite people.

A lovely table was set-up to hold the tasty treats at this party with unique touches that made it one-of-a-kind.  Using giant, golden, mylar balloons, XO was the centerpiece to the backdrop, giving everyone a sense of sweetness as they grabbed a snack.  The table was covered with black allowing all the colors of the food to stand out remarkably.  Adorable little candle holders in light pink were used to add a bit of elegance to the table.  One beautiful idea used to accent the balloon backdrop was a row of coffee mugs that spelled out love.  Each mug was filled with sweet pink and green flowers.  To finish off that bit of decor a sprinkle of heart confetti was spread on the table.

A yummy cake was perfectly frosted in white flowers and topped with glittering gold letters spelling out, “I do” in a smooth, cursive font.  Behind it a clipboard was casually displayed that encourage everyone to “Eat cake for breakfast”, a delicious notion for sure!

Thank you boxes were set on a little table with personalized labels that matched the theme beautifully.  Each box had a lovely finishing white ribbon tied around it.

A favorite idea from this party was actually a monitor set on the gift table that ran a slideshow of the bride and groom-to-be with friends and family, showing their own little love story.  This party was an excellent example of how to celebrate impending nuptials in style.

Hearts and Cookies Rustic Bridal Shower

What better way to celebrate love than Hearts and Cookies? SWEET SITUATION used some of the bride-to-be’s favorite things to create a sweet Heart and Cookie Rustic Bridal Shower party.  With a gorgeous mixture of decorations and treats, the venue was marvelous looking.

Hearts and Cookies Bridal Shower

One wonderful idea used for this shower were the invitations. Instead of the classic prints on paper, little tea bags were printed with the invitations, providing a fabulous way to bring the guests in.  The party was designed to be a tea party, so using these invites was perfect.

The dessert table was inspiring with all sorts of little touches that came together in a wonderful way.  A huge heart created from greenery and blooms was hung on the wall as a backdrop, introducing the theme very sweetly.  The table used was a long wooden delight covered in a vintage lace cover, ensuring that the venue had a vintage feel to it.  On the table a stack of classic books made a great addition, holding a delicious plate of treats. Flowers were spread throughout the table between tasty snacks to add a natural touch and soft color.  They went beautifully with the tea dishes that had lovely floral prints on them.

The variety of desserts available was great, from fruit tarts to sugar cookies, there was something for everyone to try out.  There were even macarons and cupcakes to enjoy. The real stunner on this table however, was the cake.  Layers upon layers of scrumptious chocolate and vanilla, this cake was a towering display of beauty.  Blending with the theme brilliantly, it was topped with a giant Love sugar cookie and decorated with baby’s breath and other pretty flowers.  It was placed on an elegant tall cake tray, ensuring that it would stand out dramatically.

Something Blue Bridal Shower Ideas

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed

A bridal shower is a magical time of celebrating a bride marrying her one true love, and what better way to make this even memorable than to give it a classic and romantically traditional theme. The most well-known saying regarding nuptials is “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” and most brides still incorporate this tradition into their wedding day. Send out those Tiffany blue invitations and get the bride and all her guests excited for a classically delightful bridal shower!

Something Blue Decors

For decorations, posing up signs and chalkboards displaying the age-old saying “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue!” is a fun and happy way to get everyone on board with the awesome party motif. Have accents displayed that are heirlooms from the bride or groom’s parents or grandparents to represent “something old” and post up a clothesline of photos of the bride and groom as “something new”. Get the guests involved by asking them to bring one of each of the sayings: old, new, borrowed, and blue for the bride to keep! Incorporate plenty of soft, bridal blues into the décor with tablecloths, runners, backdrops, and plenty of flowery garland and balloons. White flowers make great floral centerpieces, while burlap and jewels bring in whimsical and elegant feel to the party space.

Something Blue Food

For food, you can really be creative here. From beautifully adorned desserts that look almost too pretty to eat to classic family recipes, you can create a setup that the bride and all of her guests are taken by. The bridal shower cake can be a tiered blue one or it can be a sheet cake with a screened sugar photo of the bride and her mother and grandmother. Serve desserts on white porcelain platters with food labels that boast an old timey cursive font. Frosted blue cupcakes with pearl accents, apothecary jars full of Jordan almonds, and towers of pastel hued macaroons are gorgeous additions for the sweet tooth. The perfect beverage station could consist of mimosas and pink lemonade, while saltier fares could range from tea sandwiches to old recipes from generations past.

Game & Favor Ideas

Party games can also be delightfully diverse, with old games like Bridal Bingo or newer games with hilarious Truth or Dare for the bride. You can even have a storytime in which each guests shares an old memory of herself and the bride. Party favors can be given as prizes for these games and activities, or you can make burlap goodie bags full of gourmet treats. You can even fill a party favor box full of gifts that represent each of the four: old, new, borrowed, and blue. The guests and bride are sure to remember this bridal shower forever.

Should I Host a Hen Party or Bridal Shower Party?

A bridal shower is an exciting time in a bride-to-be’s life, and even more so a lovely excuse to have a fabulous event with your closest girlfriends! What’s really great about the bridal shower is that there are tons of different options when it comes to all the fantastic things you can do with themes, décor, food, and much, much more! When planning for a great and memorable bridal shower event, you have two main options of party genre to choose from: A bridal shower or hens party.

Hen Party or Bridal Shower

Opting for a Bridal Shower

When opting for a bridal shower, this is usually a good idea when there is a variety of guests that will be in attendance (think age, family ties, etc.) Bridal shower party ideas work great especially for bigger bridal showers with more guests there, too. Bridal shower events are wonderful for several different reasons, from introducing everyone through fun icebreakers to ensuring engagement and comfort with games, activities, and even the smallest party details, such as music or decorations.

Themes & Games

Pick a theme first and foremost that represents the bride and what she truly loves, and this is a great place to start when planning. Next, decide on at least two icebreaker-type activities that guests can immediately engage in and meet everyone at the shower who they might not already know. Some classic icebreakers can include 2 truths and a lie, or something more modern such as Guess the Celebrity Bride in which the name of a famous bride is taped to a guest’s back right when they walk in and the first part of the party consists of everyone asking questions to one another in attempt to guess who the celebrity bride is. This engages guests in instant and fun conversations to get the party going.

After the icebreakers, you can then incorporate popular games such as Bridal Bingo and the ever so loved Toilet Paper Dress game. Unique game, however, also hold a fabulous place at a bridal shower event, so let your creativity really shine. From Name that Chick Flick to Guess the Flavor (involve cupcakes and cookies and gourmet treats alike here!), you can really give the guests and the new bride activities to participate in that are truly memorable and special. Whatever activities you choose to use at the bridal shower, they definitely don’t have to cost so much. Even with many guests, any of the ideas aforementioned are affordable and really quite effortless to put together.

Opting for a Hens Party

As for the second option in regards to celebrating the bride-to-be, you can alternatively do a hens party—or you could do both a bridal shower and a hens party—it’s really all up to what your bride wishes! A hens party tends to be more of an intimate affair with less guests and goes for a night or for a weekend instead of just brunch hours that a bridal shower normally calls for. Also known as a bachelorette party, this event brings together the bride’s closest girlfriends to celebrate her upcoming “I do’s.” Just like a bridal shower, there are plenty of ways to ring in the celebration and a lot of memorable laughs to ensue!

Weekend Soirees

Weekend soirees are extremely popular, and some fantastic ideas for this are winery vineyard getaways, all-inclusive boat cruises, a glamping campout, or even a music festival event. For a single night hens party event, the bride’s favorite nightclub, bars, or perhaps a Broadway or burlesque show are all unforgettable and extremely snazzy events. Regardless of when and how you choose your hens party getaway, the activities are just as important as a classic bridal shower. A few games and activities to keep the fun and laughter going are a couture twist on the Toilet Paper Wedding Dress game, or you can even involve the groom-to-be in a Newlyweds Drinking Game. Ask the groom questions ahead of time and then see how many the bride-to-be can get right! Truth or Dare and a bridal scavenger hunt are both also great ways to keep the guests interacting and engaged during either a hens weekend or a party night.

The important thing to remember about any hens party is that it should be fun and exciting, but also relaxing for the bride and her guests. Putting together an event that is as special as it is interactive is important, as this is something that only happens once in a lifetime for the very special bride-to-be.
